An ECG (electrocardiogram) is a test that records the electrical activity of your heart, including rate and rhythm. It's commonly used during medical evaluations when symptoms, medical history, or risk factors suggest a heart assessment is needed. The test is usually quick and painless.
Spirometry is a lung function test that measures how much air you can breathe out, and how quickly you can breathe out. It helps clinicians assess how well your lungs are working and can support the evaluation or monitoring of conditions such as asthma or COPD. Because it requires repeated deep breaths, some people feel briefly lightheaded.
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring measures your blood pressure repeatedly over 24 hours while you go about normal daily activities and sleep. You wear a cuff on your arm connected to a small recording device. ABPM can provide a more complete picture than a single clinic reading and may help confirm or evaluate high blood pressure patterns.
STI testing depends on your situation and can include urine testing, swabs, and/or blood work. You should consider testing if you're sexually active — especially after sex without barrier protection, if you have symptoms, or if you or a partner may have been exposed. A clinician can recommend the right tests and explain timing, confidentiality, and follow-up.
Travel medicine visits review your itinerary, health history, and destination risks to determine which vaccines, medications, or preventive measures may be appropriate. Some destinations or transit routes require proof of specific vaccines (for example, yellow fever) documented on an official certificate. Book early so there's time to complete multi-dose schedules and address any contraindications.
